Radical Self-Care
What does self-care mean when it is not a product, a trend or a temporary escape?
In this conversation with Weini Smon, we will explore radical self-care beyond the familiar imagery of skincare routines, expensive retreats or buying more things. Drawing on African, Indigenous and traditional knowledge, as well as the legacy of Black radical movements such as the Black Panther Party, we will look at care as something more collective, practical and necessary.
For those fighting for justice and trying to survive systems that deplete them, care has never been a luxury. It has been part of how people sustain themselves, find joy and continue showing up for one another.
At a time when we are more connected online yet often more isolated in practice, this conversation invites us to reconsider what care, community and radical self-care can look like in our everyday lives.
