Rethinking Health: Cutting through the noise to focus on what keeps you healthy
Most of us don't think about our health until something goes wrong. That's the mindset Rethinking Health, a new event series launching in Miami on May 11, is looking to change.
Each event features an engaging speaker and a conversation about a different aspect of what it really means to stay well — without the noise, the fads, or the hard sell.
If you've ever felt overwhelmed by conflicting health advice and weren't sure who to trust, this is the conversation you've been looking for.
Our inaugural speaker is Dr. Oren Mechanic, MD, MPH, from the Agatston Center in Miami Beach.
Dr. Mechanic has spent his career working across the full timeline of care, from prevention to acute care. He specializes in identifying risk early, before symptoms appear, through advanced cardiovascular screening and metabolic health assessment. He's also worked at the frontier of health technology, which has given him a sharp eye for what actually moves the needle on long-term health, and what's just noise dressed up in a compelling story.
He'll share how he thinks about these questions: what to pay attention to, what's worth skepticism, and how to approach your own health with more clarity.
And then we'll open it up, because the best insights in the room won't all be coming from the front of it.
This event is generously hosted by Thank You Miami Cocina & Beer House, a locally owned business in Little Havana. Extended happy hour includes $5 beer/wine/shots, $9 cocktails and $2 tacos
