LinkedIn Live - Profitable First Mindset: How Victoria Thain Gioia Funded Perelel's Growth and Prioritized Profitability
Most founders treat fundraising as a single decision. Victoria Thain Gioia approached it in stages, raising a Friends & Family round to launch Perelel and a Series A to scale it, then using that capital to build the business to profitability.
Join us for a conversation with Victoria Thain Gioia, Co-Founder and CEO of Perelel, the first OB/GYN-founded vitamin company offering doctor-formulated, research-backed supplements for every stage of women's hormonal health. Before founding Perelel, Victoria spent her career in investment banking, private equity, and operating roles at The Honest Company, Olive & June, and Carbon38, three of the most recognizable consumer brands in beauty and wellness. That operating background, combined with a personal experience that pointed her toward a real gap in prenatal care, shaped how she built Perelel from the ground up.
In this session, we'll break down how Victoria applied what she learned building other people's brands to her own, how she sequenced Perelel's funding from Friends & Family to Series A, and how she put that capital to work on the way to profitability.
In this session, you'll learn:
What carries over from operating inside an established consumer brand to building your own
How to raise a Friends & Family round to get a brand off the ground
What institutional investors look for when you're ready to raise a Series A
How to know when it's time to move from early capital to institutional capital
How a personal experience can sharpen an operator's instinct
How to put outside capital to work as you build toward profitability
Whether you're building your first company or bringing outside operating experience into your own brand for the first time, this conversation will leave you with a clearer sense of how to fund a consumer brand in stages and grow it into a profitable business.
