About Event

Most of us learned more about our female hormones from a 2am Google search than from anyone whose job it was to explain them.

Estrogen, progesterone, testosterone -  they shape your energy, your sleep, your mood, your skin, your bones. They change week to week and decade to decade. And almost none of us were taught how any of it works.

This is the wellness workshop nobody gave us.

Nuvia's first event is a straightforward evening of learning and conversation: a short talk with an expert, a proper Q&A where you can ask what you actually want to ask and time afterwards to meet other women who've been wondering the same things.

Phones away. This one's in the room.

Our speaker

One of the UK's leading voices on hormone health, a GP trained in both conventional and integrative medicine, Dr. Sohère Roked is a medical doctor with over a decade of experience in hormone balance, perimenopause, menopause, and bio-identical hormone therapy. Known as 'The Hormone Whisperer' (a nickname coined by Vogue), she blends evidence-based medicine with an integrative, whole-person approach to help people understand and optimise their hormonal health.

What to expect

  • 6:30 pm - Doors open

  • 6:55 pm - Short intro to Nuvia

  • 7:00 pm - 7:30 pm - In conversation with Dr. Sohère Roked MRCGP

  • 7:30 pm - 8:00 pm - Questions from the floor

  • 8.00 pm - 9:00 pm - Informal conversations

You'll leave with

  • An understanding of the hormones that run your life and the role they play

  • Language to describe what you're experiencing - the words that get you taken seriously in a ten-minute appointment

  • A room full of women who've had the same questions

Who it's for

Any woman who's ever been told something was normal and wasn't sure whether to believe it. No background needed, we're starting from the basics.

Partners, friends and anyone who wants to understand this better are welcome too. Hormones affect everyone in the room, whether or not they're your own.

Where

We're hosting at The Bridge, a charity working to reduce inequalities in women's health and wellbeing. Their work gives women the facilities and support to take control of their own health through knowledge, self-belief, exercise and diet. We couldn't think of a better room to start this conversation in.

Please note: this event doesn't offer medical advice and is designed for educational purposes only. It isn't a substitute for speaking with a qualified healthcare provider.
