Internet Basics | Engineering Workshop | Week 1

​This is the first session of an 8 week Web Development Workshop series. In this introductory workshop, we will cover the fundamentals of how the internet works. This session is designed for complete beginners with no prior knowledge of web development or engineering required.

​Topics covered:

• ​What is the Internet and how it works

• ​Basic components of the internet (clients, servers, routers, data centers)

• ​How data travels (packets, protocols, DNS)

• ​Web structure (URLs, HTTP/HTTPS)

• ​Differences between websites and web applications

​Please bring along a laptop if you do not have one laptops will be provided on a first come first serve basis.

All are welcome to attend, regardless of technical background.
