About Event

Come celebrate your entrepreneurial journey at a small, intimate invite-only reception reserved for SoCal Venture Pipeline Alumni companies on Tuesday evening, May 9, 2023. We’ll enjoy food, drinks, and good company with fellow founders in a fun relaxed atmosphere.

You will also hear from a rockstar panel of successful founders and a VC who can share their advice on what founders should prioritize at this stage of their journey. The panel discussion will include Chris Webb, Founder and CEO of take out app Chow Now; John Harris, Cofounder and CEO of EV company Harbinger Motors; and Jennifer Richard, Investor at Bonfire Ventures.

We hope you will join us! Space is limited and only invited founders are permitted to attend.

Chris Webb is the CEO and co-founder of ChowNow, the leading online ordering and marketing platform for local restaurants. Webb spent 10 years holding various trading positions at Bear Stearns, RBC and Lehman Brothers. Webb would go on to co-found ChowNow in 2011. Jennifer Richard

Principal, Bonfire

Jennifer has been an operator in three venture-backed startups (2 of which she was on the founding team) and saw two of them through successful exits. She built e-commerce platforms from the ground up, managed global logistics and support operations, and developed a deep understanding of customers and vertical markets. After 6 years in the operator seat, she transitioned to venture capital, which allows her to grow and support the ecosystem without being tethered to one role or company. Jennifer received a BA from Emory University, MBA from Berkeley Haas, and is also a Kauffman Fellow.

John Harris

Founder & CEO, Harbinger

Harbinger CEO and Co-Founder John Harris is focused on redefining the medium-duty commercial vehicle industry and reducing harmful environmental emissions through electrification. Leading the company with a detailed, personal approach, John brings strong expertise in battery, hardware, and mechanical engineering from work at Anduril Industries, Boeing, Faraday Future, and Xos Trucks. A car guy at heart, John was involved in Formula SAE in college and earned a Bachelor’s in Mechanical Engineering and Master’s in Aerospace Engineering from Cornell.
