When Science Meets Policy: Careers in SciPol Webinar
You’ve spent years learning how science works — but what if you want to help shape how science is funded, regulated, communicated, or used to inform decisions? Moving from the bench into science policy can feel like stepping into a whole new world, with unfamiliar career paths, organizations, and ways of using your scientific training.
Join us for a panel conversation with professionals working in science policy, the majority of whom have backgrounds in science and research. Our panelists will share how they found their way into the field, what their day-to-day work actually looks like, and how their backgrounds and experiences have shaped their careers. They’ll also discuss the different paths into science policy, from government and advocacy to nonprofits, professional organizations, and beyond.
This will be an interactive, audience-driven panel — come with your questions about breaking into science policy, finding opportunities, building relevant skills, or anything else you’ve wondered about pursuing a career beyond the bench. We’ll also discuss ways you can start getting involved in science policy now, whether or not you’re ready to make it a career.
