⌾ About the Salon

"Yes, and": Root & Rise Salon is a community gathering for Root & Rise (R&R) Fellows and members of the public who care about environmental and social issues. Here, Fellows showcase their action plans, with initiatives spanning environmental, cultural, and societal engagement that strengthen civic participation and cultivate community leadership. This is a gathering space to be seen, to inspire one another, and to form alliances for the road ahead.

By the end of the session, we hope R&R Fellows will know one another more deeply, draw inspiration from each other's work, and be willing to support one another. Offering strategic, constructive feedback and helping to bootstrap additional resources toward the goals each has set out.

Format: In-person gathering + online participation

  • This event will be conducted primarily in English

  • No tickets needed; each in-person participant must order one beverage at the venue

⌾ OBJECTIVES

  • An opportunity to deepen relationships across the cohort, gain a richer understanding of one another’s projects, and build momentum toward a more meaningful and enriching experience at the R&R Forum in August.

  • Fellows will also have the chance to share, test, and refine their projects, shaping them into compelling narratives that can later be featured through media articles and other storytelling platforms to amplify their visibility and impact.

  • The gathering will offer insight into how best to support fellows throughout their learning journey, strengthen connections within the cohort, and curate an August Forum program that showcases fellows’ work, aspirations, and evolving needs.
