Get the Inside Scoop: Mr. Dewie's Production Facility Tour & Local Manufacturing Discussion
What does it take to start, grow, and sustain a successful manufacturing business in the Bay Area?
Join the Bay Area Economic Development Alliance for a behind-the-scenes tour of Mr. Dewie's Ice Cream, a locally rooted food manufacturer producing its products in San Leandro and distributing them to retailers across the country, while also operating scoop shops throughout the Bay Area.
We'll get an inside look at their production facility and hear directly from owner Ari Cohen about the company's journey, from building a local manufacturing business to expanding its markets and growing its presence throughout the region.
We'll also have an informal conversation about the opportunities and challenges facing manufacturers in the Bay Area, including business retention and expansion, workforce needs, regional competitiveness, and how economic and workforce development professionals can better support local manufacturers and the broader manufacturing ecosystem.
Inspired by the conversations at the recent Bay Area Manufacturing Summit, this is an opportunity to continue building connections, exchange perspectives, and explore how we can work together to strengthen the region's manufacturing base.
