4. Deception in Malware Attacks [ 3:00 PM - 4:00 PM IST] [online - Virtual]
The session explores cyber deception techniques designed to mislead and trap adversaries. As cyber threats evolve, so too must our strategies for defending against them. I will discuss some deceptive tactics, including the use of decoy systems, honeypots, and deceptive network architecture. The presentation will cover case studies demonstrating successful implementations of these strategies and analyze their effectiveness in mitigating various types of cyber attacks. Attendees will gain insights into how modern cyber deception can be integrated into existing security frameworks to enhance threat detection and response. I will also show a demo where we'll run a ransomware and try to use deception to prevent infection.
