Cycles Within Us
We are rhythmic beings. The heart beats, the lungs breathe, attention shifts, the nervous system adapts continuously to the world around us. These rhythms are not separate. They interact, influence one another, and move in and out of coordination.
For most of human history, sensing these changes from within was an ordinary part of being alive. Today we have largely handed that sense over to technology. We can measure heart rate variability, breathing, and sleep with extraordinary precision, and increasingly we learn what our bodies are doing by reading it off a screen. So what happens to the sense itself? Can you feel the true depth of your breath? Sense your heartbeat without taking a pulse?
Over two hours, neuroscience and yoga educator Rukmini Roy draws on contemporary neuroscience, respiratory physiology, and yogic practices of awareness to investigate the body's rhythms directly, moving from tracking your health to experiencing it from within.
Meet Your Facilitator
Rukmini Roy (Ruki) is a yoga and neuroscience educator dedicated to bridging ancient wisdom with contemporary science. With over 1,500 hours of training in Hatha, Ashtanga, and Rocket, and an MSc in Neuroscience from King's College London, her work explores how yogic practices shape the nervous system and states of consciousness. Rooted in tradition yet guided by research, Ruki's approach emphasises awareness over perfection, empowering students to understand the why behind each practice and to make yoga genuinely their own.
