世界で初めての挑戦は、どのような現場の積み重ねから生まれたのか。
今回のO-Nexus Wednesdayでは、iPS細胞由来の心筋細胞シートの実用化に挑むクオリプス株式会社から2名をお迎えし、特別セッションを開催します。
クオリプスは、2017年に設立された大阪大学発のベンチャーです。2023年6月に東証グロース市場へ上場し、2026年3月にはiPS細胞由来心筋細胞シート「リハート」が条件及び期限付き承認を取得、同年9月には承認後初となる移植が行われました。
本セッションでは、研究成果を会社にした創業期から、開発・治験、上場、そして承認・実用化に至るまで、各フェーズで「何が起き、誰がどう動き、何に苦労したのか」を、実務の目線で伺います。
体制づくりや資金調達、製造体制の確立、当局とのやりとり、IPO準備の実務、承認から最初の移植までの現場、そして本承認と事業拡大に向けた今のチャレンジまで。華やかなニュースの裏側にある、現場のリアルを紐解きます。
研究シーズの事業化に取り組む方にとって、自社の「少し先のフェーズ」を具体的にイメージできる時間になるはずです。

“Beyond the World’s First: Cuorips on the Real Story Behind Bringing iPS Cell-Derived Cardiomyocyte Sheets to Patients”

What does it actually take, day to day, to achieve a world first?
At this O-Nexus Wednesday, we welcome two speakers from Cuorips Inc., a company working to bring iPS cell-derived cardiomyocyte sheets into clinical use, for a special session. Founded in 2017 as a spin-off from Osaka University, Cuorips listed on the Tokyo Stock Exchange Growth Market in June 2023. In March 2026, its iPS cell-derived cardiomyocyte sheet, ReHeart, received conditional and time-limited approval, and the first transplant following approval took place in September of the same year.
In this session, we’ll trace the company’s journey from its founding, when research results first became a business, through development and clinical trials, the IPO, and finally approval and clinical use. At each stage, we’ll hear from a hands-on perspective what happened, who did what, and where the biggest challenges were. Topics will include building the team, raising funds, establishing manufacturing, working with regulators, the practical side of preparing for an IPO, what happened on the ground between approval and the first transplant, and the challenges the company faces now as it works toward full approval and business expansion. Go behind the headlines and hear the real story from the people who lived it.
For anyone working to turn research into a business, this session offers a concrete look at the stages that may lie just ahead for your own company. After the session, there will be time for self-introductions and networking.
