Workforce Learning Discussion: Building Employer-School Pathways in CT
Starteryou and the Bridgeport Regional Business Council invite you to a working session on the future of work-based learning (WBL) and career technical education (CTE) across Connecticut.
As schools statewide, from Greenwich and Stamford to Bridgeport and beyond, work to build stronger internship and employer partnership programs, this session will bring together superintendents, program coordinators, workforce board leaders, and employers to discuss:
How districts can build, track, and report on student work-based learning placements
Unlocking Perkins V and other state/federal funding for CTE and WBL programs, and closing the gap between available funding and program outcomes
Building employer pipelines with local and regional companies, including manufacturers, healthcare, and larger employers
Best practices for running internship, mentorship, and job-shadowing programs that count toward graduation and compliance requirements
Where Connecticut's new career pathways commission and other state initiatives fit into this work
We'll also walk through how Starteryou's platform is already helping districts across the tri-state area digitize and manage these programs end-to-end, from tracking placements and hours to streamlining Perkins V compliance reporting, and share real examples of what that's looked like for schools already running it.
This is an open discussion designed to connect the dots between schools, employers, and the organizations already doing great work in this space across the state.
