About Event

Many people unknowingly link suicide to mental health.

Consider the possibility that suicide happens at the intersection of hopelessness, helplessness and powerlessness, which could be brought on by unhealed trauma, unacknowledged stress and unequal distribution of wealth.

We’ll take a look at specific circumstances, both within the school setting and outside of it, that increase the risk of young people, teachers and staff dying from suicide. Events and scenarios which could result in trauma wounds, stress and distress.

Leave with the ABC of SUICIDE PREVENTION to more easily identify young people, teachers and staff who need suicide prevention support sooner.

This session is for all educators and especially form tutors, school counsellors, mentors, pastoral leads and SLT.

This 30 min talk is part of the One Voice One Hope Summer Programme for schools.

If you don't work in a school and are still interested in trauma-informed suicide prevention, please know that you are welcome to attend as well.
