About the Retreat
In this retreat we will explore how we can be present with ourselves, while in relationship with others. We will explore this through silent meditation and the relational meditation practice of Insight Dialogue. We will cultivate, and strengthen, the meditative qualities of mindfulness, investigation, concentration, and tranquility experienced in personal practice, and access them in the midst of relating with another. Resting in the immediacy of the present moment we will enquire into and reflect upon various aspects of the shared human experience through carefully crafted and timed contemplation topics. Meditating together, kindness, care, compassion and liberating wisdom naturally arise.
In silence and together, we will practice ...
... pausing and arriving in the here and now
… relaxing and receiving things as they are
… opening and expanding our awareness in mutuality
… attuning to emergence and yielding to change, trusting not knowing
… listening deeply, with the whole body, receive the world and rest in it
… speaking the truth, in kindness
Our practice will include periods of silent meditation and gentle movement as well as Insight Dialogue (relational meditation) in pairs and small groups. There will also be periods of time in nature and for rest as well as opportunities for individual meetings with the teachers. The retreat will be held in noble silence except for Insight Dialogue practice. Please be prepared not to use your phone or other on-line devices during the retreat to protect your practice and that of others.
The teachings and practices we offer are based on the Buddha’s teachings. Taking part in this offering does not, however, require an adherence to Buddhism or any adaptation of personal faith. An established meditation or mindfulness practice is needed to participate in the retreat.
