About Event

** This is a LIVE workshop. Attendees will be sent a video recording after the workshop. **

What kind of nonfiction book are you really writing, and how can knowing that help you finish it?

In this practical session, book coach and editor Brannan Sirratt will introduce the idea of the Clarity Spectrum—a framework that helps writers understand where their work sits between deeply personal narrative and broadly reported analysis. You’ll explore how clarity around your book’s type can shape its structure, focus, and publishing path, while keeping your creative energy and conviction intact.

Together, we’ll unpack common hangups, walk through Brannan’s nonfiction quiz, and make space for a guided five-minute outlining session designed to move your idea from foggy to focused.

Bring a nonfiction idea (even a rough one), something to write with, and an open mind. By the end, you’ll leave with a clearer sense of your book’s place on the spectrum—and the authorial audacity to see it through.

In this workshop, you will:

  • Identify where your project sits on the nonfiction Clarity Spectrum

  • Understand how intention affects structure, scope, and storytelling style

  • Get practical tools to build a strong, flexible outline

  • Learn how to stay committed to your vision—and where you can adapt it

  • Feel grounded and confident in your purpose as an author

  • Complete a guided 5-minute outlining exercise to solidify your idea
