Red Thread: Wicks & Wax Candle Making Workshop

This month we're trying something a little different.
One of our Red Thread members, Hana, helped bring together a collaboration between Red Thread, Mission Blue, and Oakland artist Sydney Jones of Odd Commodity Shop for an afternoon centered around creativity, community, and slowing down.
Together we'll create our own hand-poured candle using reclaimed glass vessels that have been transformed from discarded bottles into beautiful functional art. We'll have access to a curated collection of fragrance blends and be guided through the entire candle-making process—no experience necessary.
What especially drew me to this workshop is how aligned it feels with the spirit of The Red Thread. It's an invitation to spend an afternoon making something with our hands, enjoying good conversation, supporting local small businesses, and lingering a little longer than we usually do.
Whether you come alone or with a friend, you'll be in good company.
