Symposium: Design, Construction, and Operation of Energy-Efficient Buildings
Symposium on the Design, Construction, and Operation of Energy-Efficient Buildings
Date: Monday, December 8th, 2025 | Time: 9:00 AM – 6:00 PM
Location: Bakar Labs Auditorium, UC Berkeley
Overview
Buildings account for a significant share of global energy use and residual emissions, both from the materials used in construction and the energy required for daily operation. Addressing these challenges demands bold, interdisciplinary innovation across the entire building lifecycle.
This one-day symposium will explore the role of materials across the building lifecycle and spotlight technologies and strategies to dramatically reduce buildings’ operational energy demand. We aim to convene leaders from academia, industry, and startups to share research breakthroughs, scalable solutions, and commercialization pathways for high-performance construction and operation.
