Beyond The DJ Booth panel hosted by Late Night Ricky
Grammy-winning producer and DJ Late Night Ricky hosts a live conversation on navigating the music industry, breaking barriers and building a career that lasts. Ricky's credits include Chris Brown, Kendrick Lamar and Potter Payper, and he's DJed globally across Miami, New York, London and Cannes for the likes of Leonardo DiCaprio, Drake and Ronaldo.
As a spotlight on South Asian Heritage Month, he's joined by three others who've built careers behind the scenes of major artists: DJ Complexion (founder, The Future Beats Show), who has worked with Jorja Smith and Little Simz; Samir Ahmed (founder, Mediahive, a PR agency specialising in multicultural audiences, working with Warner, Universal and Sony as well as independent labels, with a client list including Ed Sheeran and Zayn Malik); and Rupinder Virdee (formerly PRS for Music, now working across brand strategy and talent development), who has previously worked with Timbaland and the Kray Twinz.
Together, the panel will explore the realities of building a long-term career across DJing, production, artist management, radio, PR and the wider music business.
Through the lens of creatives and industry professionals with South Asian backgrounds, the conversation will look at representation, resilience, community, career growth and the lessons learned along the way.
