HealthyChild, HealthyFuture — School Hygiene & Health Outreach
HealthyChild, HealthyFuture is a community-led initiative of Logos Circle Kano, powered in partnership with D.J.F.L Foundation, created to help children develop simple, practical hygiene habits that can protect their health and improve their wellbeing.
We are taking the initiative directly into schools across Kano, turning conversations about hygiene into practical action.
🎯 What We’ll Be Doing
Students will participate in engaging, age-appropriate sessions covering:
🧼 The 12 steps of proper handwashing
🚿 Personal and environmental hygiene
🚽 Toilet and bathroom hygiene
🦠 Preventing common hygiene-related illnesses
🌸 Menstrual and reproductive health awareness
💧 Safe water and healthy hygiene practices
🏠 Healthy habits students can practice at home and in school
Students will also receive educational materials and practical demonstrations designed to make hygiene simple, memorable and part of everyday life.
🌱 Building Beyond One-Day Outreach
This is more than a school visit.
We are working toward creating HealthyChild Clubs and identifying student hygiene ambassadors who can continue promoting good hygiene practices among their peers.
Our goal is to reach 1,000+ students, encourage lasting behavioural change, and empower children to become advocates for healthier schools and communities.
