βποΈ Talks
βBuilding and Releasing Cross-Platform Desktop Apps with Electron and React by Martin Barker
In this talk, IβllΒ discuss how to build and release a cross-platform desktop app with Electron and React.js. In my example, I will explain the pros and cons of Electron, show how to package libraries such as FFmpeg, and demonstrate how to build and notarize your application with GitHub Actions. I will also cover the costs and challenges of submitting your app for review on the Mac, Windows, and Linux desktop stores.
βLies I was told about collaborative editing by Alex Clemmer
You use Linear and Notion. You've read the blog posts about "sync engines" and "local first" software. You want that kind of product experience too, so you install some fancy CRDT libraries and expect things to Just Workβ’. Well, you're about to learn what we're going to discuss in this talk: that this problem is perhaps not so simple after all.
