< NEPHILA OS LAUNCH & EXHIBITION IN PARIS >
< first contact > was always imagined as something arriving from the outside. But it may have already happened through the technologies that now shape how we think, what we want, and who we believe we are. As theorist Bogna Konior says, "the internet is an alien invasion". If our sense of self is scattered across platforms, performed for metrics we never chose, split into unrecognizable parts, then perhaps the alien we're meeting is ourselves: estranged, hallucinated, and multiplied.
Co-hosted with FWB and in partnership with Diversion, this evening marks the Paris launch of Nephila OS, a multiplayer internet for becoming something other than ourselves. Four worlds by Will Freudenheim, Connor Cook, Vincent Moulinet, and Cezar Mocan will cross-contaminate through the OS, with live performances by Manuka Honey, Alex Quicho, and Casablancage.
