Do We Own Our Limits?
Do We Own Our Limits?
We all have strengths to develop and limits that can hold us back. But how many of those limits are truly ours?
Our sense of what is possible is shaped by our surroundings and by assumptions about our gender, background and identity. These expectations influence the space we take up, the opportunities we pursue and who we believe we are allowed to become.
For many women, these limits are often set by others, ideas about what they are good at, which roles they should fulfil and how much freedom they should have, shaping their education, their careers and their path in life.
This evening, we explore these expectations and what it takes to challenge them.
Stand-up comedian Rashi will share her sharp and funny perspective on societal expectations, limiting beliefs and pushing back against them. Afterwards, two NGOs will discuss how these barriers affect women's rights and emancipation worldwide.
We will close with practical ways to support women globally and how effective giving can help create meaningful change.
