The People + Culture Meetup Presents: SCARING AWAY RESISTANCE
⭐️ This event is for HR/People professionals. Feel free to invite a coworker or industry peer! ⭐️
Bring a REAL resistance situation you're dealing with right now - a stalled rollout, a team member who keeps pushing back, a change that's not landing. Leave with a plan for that exact conversation.
Because resistance itself isn't the problem. Misreading it is.
👻 In SCARING AWAY RESISTANCE, Mindy and Ed will introduce the Resistance Decoder: a practical tool for reading what resistance is actually signaling, identifying the real barrier underneath it, and choosing the move that actually works.
This is a hands-on session, not a framework you'll nod along to and forget. Through table discussion, paired coaching, and individual planning, you'll work through a REAL situation and map out a conversation you can have the same week.
🛠️ You'll leave knowing how to:
Spot what's really driving the resistance you're seeing and what each one calls for
Read which stage someone's in and calibrate your response accordingly
Use a simple coaching sequence on a real conversation and be able to utilize that tool in the future
Tell the difference between productive friction and resistance that could stall adoption
