🧠 How do we preserve depth, curiosity, and agency in the age of AI?
As artificial intelligence becomes woven into our daily lives, fast answers and frictionless execution are becoming the default setting for how we work, learn, and communicate. But when every task can be streamlined with a click, a very different challenge emerges: how do we preserve our own capacity for deep thought, creative intuition, and meaningful human connection?
When convenience is everywhere, staying sharp requires intention. How do we keep our cognitive muscles strong when algorithms constantly offer to do the heavy lifting? How do we protect the depth of our careers, our personal growth, and our relationships in an increasingly automated world?
In this session, Crystal King expands the conversation far beyond efficiency shortcuts and prompt tips. Drawing on cognitive science, practical philosophy, and real-world strategy, Crystal offers a practical roadmap for maintaining true human agency.
You’ll explore how to safeguard your brain's capacity for high-level thinking and how to cultivate the uniquely human qualities—in our work and in how we model thinking for the next generation—that no software can replicate.
You'll leave with an understanding of:
Cognitive Stewardship: Why "productive struggle" is essential for mental sharpness, memory, and strategic intuition, and how to build deliberate mental friction into your personal and professional life.
Purposeful Learning: How to shift from passive information consumption to true wisdom, focusing on depth and critical understanding rather than synthesized shortcuts.
Un-Modellable Value: How to anchor your professional identity around non-computable human traits: ethical judgment, contextual wisdom, and authentic trust.
Relational & Generational Presence: How to guard genuine human connection against transactional convenience, while briefly exploring how we can model curious, independent thinking for younger generations and those around us.
