Tools of Recovery Roundtable
"Recovery does not refer to an end product or result. It is marked by an ever-deepening acceptance." — Pat Deegan
The Tools of Recovery Roundtable brings experienced Peer Support Specialists (RSPS and MHPS) together with the broader Austin peer specialist community — especially those newer to the field — to share effective tools and lessons learned through their experiences.
Topics we’ll discuss:
What tools have worked best for the peers you've served?
What's worked best for you personally as a professional?
How do you approach documentation?
What does one of your typical sessions look like?
What advice do you have for newer peer specialists?
Additionally, participants will have the chance to ask other participants questions they would like to explore with each other. As a group, we'll also build a shared list of tools and resources for supporting both peers and peer specialists — the foundation for a future workshop New Obsession will host to bring these tools to the broader peer community.
This is an in-person event with no virtual option. Anyone interested who can't attend may request access to the resulting tool/resource list afterward.
