September marks important occasions in both Japan and around the world. In Japan, we celebrate Respect for the Aged Day, and the world observes World Alzheimer’s Day, dedicated to raising awareness and understanding of dementia, including Alzheimer’s disease, and reducing the stigma surrounding it. In Japan, under the Basic Act on Dementia, which came into effect in 2024, the entire month of September was recognized as “Dementia Month.”

So let’s not Forget!

SivanS Lab continues our mission with full dedication to the aging society in Japan to put a spotlight on the challenges, but also bring the opportunities into a single frame.

We are happy to announce Old School Smart School Vol. 3, which will be dedicated entirely to Alzheimer’s Disease.

For this occasion, we selected unique speakers from a variety of fields to share their different approaches to spreading awareness of the most challenging diseases affecting seniors today, and to create a society with dementia Community care and wellbeing for all.

Our Keynote speaker, Mr. Takayuki Maeda from W(Double) Inc., transforms passive care into active and progressive care, and gives dementia patients a way out of isolation - improving their brain health and leading to happier lives.

We are also very happy to host Mr. Hideyuki Yamakuni from Wonder Laboratory, a writer and film producer who addresses social issues in his films.  He will share the behind-the-scenes story of the inspiration, writing, and production of his award-winning film series CareNin, which tells the story of a care worker learning to care for an elderly person with dementia.

Our trusted partner, Mr. Nachi Katz from Kedem Innovation Hub, will introduce cutting-edge technology designed to assist patients with dementia.

Last but not least, to celebrate Respect for the Aged Day, we will host two elderly guests of honor, who are still active and happy.
Ms. Yumiko Ukon, owner of the highly popular restaurant Onigiri Bongo, and Mr. Shozo Nakamura, an active 93-year-old senior, will share with us their secrets to living a happy and long life.

At SivanS Lab, we believe in Longevity.
We do not want to simply help people live longer, but provide solutions that treat and prevent the challenges that seniors are facing, and help those afflicted with Alzheimer’s live healthy, fulfilling, and enjoyable lives.

9月には、日本と世界がそれぞれに大切な意味を持つ日を迎えます。
日本では「敬老の日」を。そして、世界では「世界アルツハイマーデー」で、アルツハイマー病を含む認知症への理解を深め、偏見をなくしていくことを目的としています。日本でも、2024年に施行された「認知症基本法」により、9月は「認知症月間」と定められました。

だからこそ、忘れないように。

このたび、アルツハイマー病をテーマにすべてを捧げる
Old School? Smart School! Vol. 3 の開催をお知らせいたします。

本開催にあたっては、今日の高齢者が直面する最も困難な疾患への理解を広め、認知症とともに生きる地域ケアと、すべての人のウェルビーイングが実現する社会をつくるために、異なる分野から独自のアプローチを持つ登壇者をお迎えしました。

基調講演には、株式会社W（ダブル）の前田隆行氏をお招きします。
受け身の介護を、能動的で前向きなケアへと変え、認知症の方々に孤立から抜け出す道をひらく。
それは脳の健康を高め、より幸せな毎日へとつながる取り組みです。

また、ワンダーラボラトリーの山国秀幸氏にもご登壇いただきます。
社会課題を映画で描く脚本家・映画プロデューサーである
山国氏には、認知症の高齢者と向き合う介護職の成長を描いた受賞シリーズ『ケアニン』について、着想から脚本、そして製作に至るまでの舞台裏をお話しいただきます。

さらに、私たちの信頼するパートナーである Kedem Innovation Hub の Nachi Katz 氏が、認知症の方々を支えるために設計された最先端テクノロジーをご紹介します。

そして敬老の日を祝して、今なお現役で、幸せに日々を過ごされているお二人を特別ゲストとしてお迎えします。
大人気のおにぎり店「おにぎりぼんご」店主の右近由美子氏と、93歳の現役シニアである 中村昭三氏。
お二人に、幸せに長く生きるための秘訣を伺います。

SivanS Lab は、Longevity（長寿）を信じています。
ただ長く生きられるようにするのではなく、高齢者が直面する課題を治療し、予防する解決策を届けること。
そしてアルツハイマー病とともに生きる方々が、健康で、満ち足りた、楽しい人生を送れるようにすること。それが私たちの目指すところです。
