Rethinking African Risk amid New Dynamics in China–Africa Cooperation: Insights from a Chinese Credit-Rating Perspective. Fireside Chat
This fireside chat with Ms Zhang Tingting, Managing Director of Sovereign Rating & Overseas Business, China Chengxin International (CCXI), will explore how African sovereign and investment risks are viewed from a Chinese credit-rating perspective, and how changing China–Africa economic and financial relationships are shaping perceptions of risk and creditworthiness.
Drawing on CCXI’s Africa Regional Risk Outlook and its experience assessing sovereign risk, the conversation will examine political and operational risks, evolving financing relationships and the growing role of RMB internationalisation. It will consider how these dynamics may influence financing conditions, market access and the cost and availability of capital for African economies.
Ms Hannah Wanjie Ryder, CEO of Development Reimagined, will guide the conversation.
