About Event

Getting diagnosed with ADHD as an adult can explain a lot, and stir up just as much. All those years wondering what was wrong with you. All the strategies that never quite worked. And then, suddenly, a name for it.

But a diagnosis is only the start. The harder question is often what comes next. Who do you talk to? What actually helps? And how do you find people who get it?

In this free live panel, two therapists who were both diagnosed later in life share what the other side looked like for them, and what support they wish they'd found sooner.

Dr. Panicha McGuire, PsyD, RPT-S™, LMFT is the founder and clinical director of Living Lotus Therapy, a neurodiversity-affirming practice in California. She was late diagnosed as AuDHD, and she grew up as a 1.5 generation Southeast Asian American. Her work centers people who've been missed or harmed by systems that weren't built for them.

Patrick Casale, LCMHC is a mental health therapist, group practice owner, TEDx speaker, and host of two podcasts, including Divergent Conversations. He learned he was AuDHD along the way, while building a busy career that eventually led him into severe autistic burnout. He talks openly about all of it so others feel a little less alone.

Moderated by O'Ryan McEntire, Growth Lead at Shimmer.

Expect an honest conversation about:

  • What changed (and what didn't) after their diagnosis

  • The support that actually helped, and what they'd tell their younger selves

  • Seeing late diagnosis from both sides, as clinicians and as people living it

  • How to start building your own circle of support, wherever you are
