[Free women only hike]: La Pedriza
🪨 La Pedriza · Canto Cochino & Charca Verde — Granite, Rivers & Emerald Pools
This hike is hosted by Ekaterina :)
One of the most iconic landscapes in the Sierra de Guadarrama — La Pedriza is a dramatic granite massif unlike anything else accessible from Madrid by public transport. This route winds through the rocky terrain of Canto Cochino before following the Manzanares river upstream to Charca Verde, a beautiful natural pool named for the striking green colour of its water. Boulders, pine forest, river crossings and views that will make you wonder why you ever spent a Sunday in a café. 🌿
Distance: 12 km · Elevation: ~440 m · Time: 3.5–4 h · Difficulty: Easy–Moderate. Well-marked trail, some rocky sections underfoot. Suitable for beginners with a reasonable base fitness. 🥾
