Far From... Prestige

​I’m inviting you to a new network gathering. The theme is a notch heavier than September’s (learning at the edges of society), but they say the only way out is through.

​Let’s focus on how prestige distorts the ways we work, the impact we can have, and whether our lives feel meaningful.

​I’d go so far as to say that I’ve experienced the poison of prestige, the poison of lack of prestige, and even the poison of not wanting it.

​It can be prestige from wealth, from academic recognition, from cultural capital, from political power… Let’s find antidotes by sharing our stories, and being together. Humility? Belonging? Other measures of worth?

​I’ll facilitate creatively and conversationally,
