About Event

As part of the Adinkra Fellowship 2026, taking place in Côte d’Ivoire from February 12 to 15, 2026, we are hosting an intimate film screening and discussion (cine-debate) designed to foster deep reflection, critical dialogue, and collective imagination.

The Adinkra Fellowship is an international leadership program that brings together 20 exceptional young African and Afro-descendant leaders (under 40) each year.

This cine-debate will take place in a deliberately intimate setting of approximately 40-50 participants, bringing together Adinkra Fellows, bilingual emerging Ivorian leaders, and communication professionals.

Theme

“From the Story We’re Told to the Story We Build — Reclaiming the Black Narrative to Shape the Present”

The session will be conducted entirely in English and will follow a simple but powerful format:
a film screening, followed by an open, facilitated discussion.

Together, participants will explore questions such as:

  • Who tells our stories — and who has been left out?

  • How have dominant narratives shaped perceptions of Black histories and futures?

  • What responsibility do new generations carry in building narratives that are more just, complex, and rooted in lived realities?

The goal is not consensus, but clarity, depth, and exchange — creating a space that is intellectually stimulating, emotionally grounded, and human-centered.

About the Experience
Our intention is simple and ambitious: to create a high-quality space for dialogue, where ideas circulate freely and connections are built with intention.

This event is designed for those who believe that narrative is power — and that shaping the present requires reclaiming how our stories are told.

Special Guest: Yasmine Diawara

This event is proudly co-hosted with Ivoire Black History Month, ASSOCIATION 3535, Alliance Jeunesse Cote d'Ivoire and USA Alumni Exchange Program – Côte d’Ivoire (USAEP-CI), the official network of Ivorian alumni of U.S. Department of State exchange programs.
