Selamat Hari Merdeka and Malaysia Day 🇲🇾✨
Join us for our Merdeka + Malaysia Day celebration, a joyful indoor gathering for the Bay Area Malaysian community on Sunday, September 20, from 1:00–5:30 PM, in Mountain View.
This year, we're coming together indoors in a beautiful, comfortable space where families and friends can reconnect, makan together, and celebrate Malaysia's independence and unity at an easy, unhurried pace. We've worked hard to secure this venue so everyone can enjoy a comfortable, weatherproof gathering.
📍 Attendees must submit a potluck contribution to be approved for registration. Once approved, the exact venue address will be shared via Luma.
🍽️ Community Potluck – Gotong-Royong Spirit
This is a community potluck, and shared contribution is essential to making this event possible.
Attendees are expected to contribute a halal dish to share, whether it's a traditional Malaysian favorite or something meaningful and simple. Dishes that can serve 8–10 people are ideal.
Please ensure all food is 100% HALAL. If you are purchasing food, it must be from a halal-certified or clearly halal source.
Drinks will be provided by BAMs, so please do not bring drinks. Just come with your dish and we'll take care of the rest!🍽️ Community Potluck – Gotong-Royong Spirit

Attendance approval will be based on confirmed potluck contribution sign-ups to help ensure there is enough food for everyone.
If cooking is not possible, alternative ways to contribute may be shared closer to the event, subject to available capacity.
⚠️ Capacity & Attendance Note
Due to limited venue capacity, priority will be given to those who commit to a specific dish (not just a category like “snacks” or “dessert”) and especially to those bringing main dishes, as these are what we need most to feed the community.
When signing up, please name the actual dish you plan to bring (e.g. “Ayam Percik” or “Nasi Goreng”) rather than a general category. Vague sign-ups make it hard for us to plan and balance the spread, and may affect approval priority.
We appreciate everyone’s understanding as we work to keep this a fair and sustainable community gathering for all.

This is a family-friendly, casual indoor gathering. Guests are encouraged to arrive prepared to participate in the shared potluck and the event's community spirit.
