Building Data-Driven Products: Agentic Workflows and Contextual Text-to-SQL

​In this presentation led by ex-{Snowflake, Cloudera, and Amazon} leaders, we will present how agentic workflows are encouraging teams to build data products via:

• ​Hyper-accurate text-to-SQL, text-to-Chart and text-to-Insight

• ​Effortless navigation of complex schemas and large join graphs

• ​Seamless integration of unstructured and semi-structured data

​We will show these concepts with Waii.ai, a contextual Text-to-SQL system with the highest-to-date achieved accuracy. We will cover common principles of working with agentic workflows, in-context learning, retrieval-augmented-generation (RAG) architectures and more. Attendees can expect to gain a better understanding of the current state-of-the-art in this exciting field and the challenges that lie ahead.

​Gunther Hagleitner is a seasoned product and engineering leader with a 20+ year track record in SQL and analytics. As SVP at Cribl and CVP at Cloudera, he focused on simplifying data through innovation and open-source. Gunther excels at both scaling products and teams as well as new product introductions. He is passionate about creating user-centric solutions that solve real-world problems.

​Wangda Tan is an accomplished engineering leader with over 13 years of experience in machine learning, databases, and open-source software. With a track record that includes roles at Snowflake, Cloudera, and Alibaba, Wangda has proven his ability to lead teams and deliver results at scale. As a member of the Apache Foundation, he has contributed to some of the most widely used open-source projects in the world.
