Have an idea you’ve been meaning to build?
The Builders Lab will take place in person at 6 Kilo, Teferi Mekonnen Polytechnic.
However, the pre-hackathon competition will begin online, where participants will compete and be evaluated to select the top contenders who will advance to the in-person hackathon.
BUILDERS’ LAB is an experience designed to help you turn an idea into a real project, from idea → build → project.
You’ll have access to the IDEEZA platform, a community of fellow builders, and dedicated support throughout the build week. You’ll build at your own pace, share your progress, learn by doing, and get help when you need it.
You don’t need to be an experienced developer.
You don’t need an existing project.
You just need an idea and the willingness to build.

About BUILDERS’ LAB
IDEEZA provides the AI-powered platform participants will use to develop their hardware projects.
Women Techmakers Ethiopia brings the builder community and leads the community programming around the experience.
FCA Creators Hub, an initiative of Finn Church Aid, supports the ecosystem and provides space and opportunities for young creatives and digital enthusiasts.

What You’ll Do
Build From Scratch
Start with an idea and turn it into a working project using IDEEZA.
Learn by Building
Explore the platform through hands-on experimentation and real project development rather than passive instruction.
Connect With Other Builders
Share your progress, discuss your ideas, ask questions, and learn from other participants through the Builders’ Lab Telegram community.
Get Support
Open Support Rooms will be available throughout Build Week for questions and help with setup, access, wallets, KYC, minting, listing, or general platform use.
Get Your Project Noticed
Projects will be tracked throughout Build Week based on progress, creativity, usefulness, quality, and participation.
How to Join
Step 1 — Register for BUILDERS’ LAB
Register through Luma to secure your place.
Step 2 — Join the IDEEZA Waitlist
After registering, complete your IDEEZA signup:
Your IDEEZA access will be approved after signup.
Step 3 — Activate Your IDEEZA Account
Once your access is approved, follow the activation instructions sent to your email.
Make sure you can successfully sign in before Build Week begins.
Step 4 — Connect Your Wallet
Once your IDEEZA account is active, connect your wallet using the setup guide.

Step 5 — Start Building
On September 16, start turning your idea into a project.
Step 6 — Share Your Build
Throughout Build Week, share your progress, showcase your work, ask questions, and connect with other builders in the Telegram community:

Build Week: September 16–24
You’ll have nine days to develop as many project as you can to be amongst the top in person participants on Saturday Sep 26
The goal isn’t simply to finish first. Projects will be evaluated throughout Build Week based on:
Progress
Creativity
Usefulness
Quality
Participation
Your progress during Build Week will contribute to the leaderboard and the selection process for the next stage.
Top 30 Live Build Challenge
At the end of Build Week, the Top 30 participants will be selected based on their progress and performance against the Build Week evaluation criteria.
Selected participants will move on to the Top 30 Live Build Challenge, where they will take their projects into an in-person building experience on September 26 at 6 Kilo, Teferi Mekonnen.
Further details about the live challenge will be communicated directly to the selected participants.
What You Need
To participate, you’ll need:
A laptop
Internet access
An idea you want to build
An active IDEEZA account
A connected wallet
No existing project is required.
BUILDERS’ LAB is specifically designed for participants who want to start from scratch and turn an idea into something tangible.
Community & Support
The Builders’ Lab Telegram community will be the central space for Build Week announcements, resources, discussions, progress sharing, and participant support.
