MAKE MONEY - WITHOUT BEING A D*CK
A workshop for value-led creatives who want the cash without the guilt trip
Summary
You want money. You also think wanting money makes you shallow, uncaring, etc.. Cue years of underpricing, apologetic invoices and pretending you'd do it for free. This workshop kills that contradiction dead. Come and learn to charge properly, sell without cringing, and stay exactly as decent as you already are.
Detailed description
Here's the awkward truth nobody says out loud: most value-led creatives have a genuinely toxic relationship with money. You want it. You need it. You'd quite like a lot of it, actually. But somewhere along the way you decided that wanting money made you greedy, or worse, a sell-out. So you flinch when you send an invoice. You knock 20% off before anyone's even asked. You'd rather do the job for 'exposure' than have an awkward conversation about your rate.
This is not a personality flaw. It's a story you were sold, and stories can be rewritten.
In this session we get underneath the money-shame that's quietly capping your income and your ambition. We'll unpick where your beliefs about money actually came from (spoiler: not from you), separate your values from your pricing anxiety, and build a version of 'charging what you're worth' that doesn't feel like a betrayal of all those good and wholesome things you stand for.
You'll leave with a straighter relationship to money, a clearer sense of your own value, and perhaps the beginnings of a pricing structure you can actually say out loud without wincing.
Nobody is asking you to become a shark. We're asking you to stop being your own worst negotiator.
Without money and resources it's difficult to provide impact to others.
Things we might explore:
MONEY IS A TOOL, NOT A VERDICT: What you charge says nothing about your character. It's a number, not a moral position.
WANTING IS ALLOWED: You can love the work and want to be paid well for it. These are not in conflict, whatever you've been telling yourself.
UNDERCHARGING ISN'T HUMILITY: It's self-sabotage wearing a 'I'm a nice person' tee shirt. Modesty doesn't pay rent.
YOUR GUILT ISN'T YOUR PRICE: Separate the two. One is for you to work on, the other belongs on your invoice.
BEING PAID WELL IS BEING OUT THERE: Asking for your worth is a form of visibility. Hiding your rates is just more hiding.
