​A Conversation on Safe Sport in Alberta — Lethbridge

​Alberta's sport community is growing fast — and that means shared understanding of how our sport system protects athletes hasn't always kept pace. Expectations can look different from club to club and region to region.

​This session is part of a province-wide conversation ASLA (Alberta Sport Leadership Association) is holding in communities across Alberta this fall. In plain language, no prior knowledge assumed, we'll cover:

• ​The AB Universal Code of Conduct (UCC) — what it is, who it's for, and what it means for your club.

• ​The Alberta Safe Sport Complaint Mechanism (ABSSCM) — what it's actually for and who its for. It exists specifically for concerns about maltreatment, not everyday disagreements like playing time or team decisions, and we want every family to understand that distinction clearly.

​Format: an open town hall hosted locally by Lethbridge Sport Council. Goran Miletic, ASLA's Executive Director, will lead a short presentation followed by open Q&A — bring your questions.
