Move Well for Life - Two Workshops with Limitless Physiotherapy
We are returning to The Noisy Lobster at Avon Beach for two back-to-back workshops this October led by Limitless Physios Tom Gaunt and Ryan Bickle.
When it comes to looking after your health as we age, there’s no shortage of questions…
Should I be lifting weights? Is my recurring back pain something to worry about? How much protein do I need? Do I need to stretch? How do I improve my balance? should I be running? Where do I start with bone health?
And perhaps the biggest question underneath it all:
What should I actually be doing now to make sure I can keep doing the things I love for years to come? - That’s exactly what we’re going to explore.
We’re taking Limitless outside the clinic for a morning of evidence-based educational workshops at The Noisy Lobster, designed to cut through the noise, breakdown the why, and share practical advice you can actually take away and use.
WORKSHOP 1
Lower Back Pain: Prevention, Recovery & What Actually Helps
Tuesday, 6th October, 8:30 - 9:15 AM at The Noisy Lobster, Avon Beach, upstairs in the Wight Room
Back pain is incredibly common, but there is also an incredible amount of confusion around it.
What does the pain actually mean?
Should you rest or keep moving?
Can lifting weights make your back stronger?
What should you do when it flares up?
And what can you do to reduce the chances of it becoming a recurring problem?
This workshop will take you through the fundamentals of understanding and managing lower back pain, including:
The common causes and contributing factors
Understanding pain and flare-ups
The myths and misconceptions around back pain
Strength, movement and load management
Prevention and rehabilitation
What you can, and should do.
*Tickets are per person, if you book an appointment with Limitless following the event, we will take the ticket price off of your appointment fee.
WORKSHOP 2
How Fit Are You For Your Age?
Tuesday, 6th October, 9:30 - 10:15 AM at The Noisy Lobster, Avon Beach, upstairs in the Wight Room
What should we actually be working on to stay healthy, strong and capable as we get older?
This talk looks at the key areas of physical health that become increasingly important as we age, and importantly, what you can actually do about them.
Come with your questions. Leave with answers.
We'll cover:
Strength & muscle - sarcopenia, why strength matters, resistance-training guidance and maintaining independence.
Balance - falls risk, confidence and why balance needs training rather than simply hoping it stays good.
Power - the often-overlooked ability to produce force quickly and why it matters for real-life function.
Aerobic fitness - cardiovascular capacity, health, longevity and what people should actually be doing each week.
Mobility - how much mobility do we really need, what changes with age, and the difference between useful mobility and obsessing over stretching.
Bone health - osteopenia/osteoporosis, loading, resistance exercise and appropriate impact.
Nutrition - particularly protein, maintaining muscle, energy intake, hydration and potentially creatine/basic supplementation.
Whether you're already active, getting back into exercise, managing an injury, or simply want to make sure you're doing the right things for your future self, these workshops are designed to give you the knowledge and confidence to take control of your health.
Choose one workshop at £10 or attend both for £16
*Tickets are per person, if you book an appointment with Limitless following the event, we will take the ticket price off of your appointment fee.
