if you’ve been on a dance floor with Shem, you already know the deal. Helen Hazelwood is a Thai bodyworker, somatic practitioner, multi-instrumentalist & poet who has lived in the five boroughs since 2011. their dance practice offering will incorporate a brief seated meditation followed by movement drawing on principles of Reusi Da Ton (Thai yoga), Qigong, Gaga & pandiculation. the dance floor will be freshly cleaned & waxed prior to this session - socks & bare feet encouraged.
UMA DJ is a NYC-born selector raised on international dance floors & underground parties. influenced by Chicago + NY house, dub, disco & the history of rave culture, she has an old-school soul & future-forward spirit. you can typically find her in notable venues such as Good Room, Nightmoves, L&SD & Monsieur, as well as throwing her own Summer Soirée parties in Brooklyn. outside of NY, she’s played in numerous cities spanning Europe, Asia, Australia, the Caribbean & the US. from playing Magick City & Dope Jams at age 15 to thumping dance floors around the world, she steers the ride that is transcendent dance & good-lovin' fun.
