​What does it actually take to go from an idea to a funded charity working on farmed animal welfare in Southeast Asia?

​Join us for a conversation with Ameer Virani, co-founder of Scale Welfare, an organisation testing cost-effective ways to improve farmed fish welfare in Vietnam and the Philippines.

​Ameer spent ten years in sustainable tourism development before shifting into farmed animal advocacy through Charity Entrepreneurship's incubation program, and co-launched Scale Welfare in May 2025.

​Over 70 billion farmed fish are raised and slaughtered every year, around 90% of them in Asia, and very few organisations are working on their welfare. Scale Welfare is running field research on pangasius and tilapia to find interventions worth scaling.
