An Afternoon of Purpose: Supporting Mentoring in Medicine & Science
You're warmly invited to an intimate afternoon gathering with a small group of incredible women for delicious bites, refreshments, and a meaningful conversation.
I'm hosting this reception to share the work of an organization that is very close to my heart: Mentoring in Medicine & Science, Inc. (MIMS). MIMS, an Oakland-based nonprofit organization, founded by Dr. Jocelyn Freeman is expanding pathways to health careers for underrepresented youth and adults; they have done this for 20 years. Dr. Freeman is a Soror and friend of many years, and her work is nothing short of extraordinary.
Since 2006, MIMS has served more than 4,000 underrepresented youth, engaged over 200 health professionals as mentors, and supported alumni who have gone on to become nurses, physicians, public health professionals, and healthcare leaders.
Join us to learn how MIMS is shaping the next generation of health professionals through mentorship, hands-on training, and career development, and how we can support that mission together.
Space is limited. RSVP required.
