We are pleased to invite you to the EERA Joint Programme Smart Cities (JP-SC) Annual Event 2026, bringing our community together for a full day of research exchange, networking, and strategic discussions.

A Welcome and Networking Dinner will also take place on the evening of 14 October 2026.
The Annual Event will consist of two main parts: a Research Meeting in the morning, bringing together the wider research and policy community, followed by our JP-SC General Assembly in the afternoon.

Building Regional Capacity for Competitive, Resilient and Inclusive Communities
Skills, Accessible Services and Partnerships for the Green, Energy and Digital Transitions
The Research Meeting, organised by EERA JP-SC and ENEA, will bring together researchers, European networks, regional and local authorities, and policymakers for an interactive exchange on how to build more competitive, resilient, and inclusive regions and communities.
The programme will feature fireside-style panel discussions and an interactive roundtable, providing space to exchange perspectives, share knowledge, and strengthen connections across research, policy, and regional actors.
The Research Meeting will be followed by a networking lunch from 13:00 to 14:00.

EERA JP Smart Cities General Assembly - EERA JP-SC members only
In the afternoon, we will bring together the JP-SC community for our annual General Assembly. Both full and associate members are warmly invited to participate.
Together, we will reflect on the past year, share the latest JP-SC news and updates, review our activities and financial developments, and discuss and shape joint activities and strategic priorities for 2027.
The General Assembly is an opportunity for you to actively contribute to the future direction of JP-SC, exchange ideas, and identify new opportunities for collaboration across the programme.

Please register by 10 September 2026 and indicate whether you will participate in:
the Welcome and Networking Dinner on 14 October;
the Research Meeting and networking lunch on 15 October;
the JP-SC General Assembly on 15 October.
