Retrain & Work in the Health & Fitness Sector
The Gym Group has 264 gyms across the UK and another 12-18 pending. With an ageing population, they recognise people utilising and wanting to build and maintain fitness will also rise.
One of the biggest barriers to people retraining is the cost to do this. The Gym group will cover the cost of training and will take people on a case by case basis (ideally based on your postcode) to see and build what kind of a training programme can be offered to support you to become an employee within this field.
They have experience of taking people from other fields (military, sport) and turning them into people who now work as Personal Trainers, Assistant Gym Managers and more.
There are a range of options but to work in the sector requires level 2 and 3 Gym instructing and personal training certificates. The Gym group will cover the cost of this for those they take on. They will also cover wages as you work shifts, so this is an opportunity to earn as you learn.
In this session, you’ll get to:
Meet others who’ve retrained/thinking of retraining
Hear about the different pathway and what people end up doing
Learn about the different salary levels and ways of working
Discover what the different roles require and what skills best suit those considering a move into this field
There is no doubt this sector is growing and the scope for those to help build and craft a niche that serves those wanting to maintain the best quality of life for longer.
What we find most interesting about this opportunity is the blend of being your own business owner with being employed. In a world of increasing AI, this also feels like a role which will sit in the ‘future proof’ space for the next few years!
