About Event

Getting laid off in Germany feels like the ground disappearing beneath you, especially if you’re international and nobody ever explained your rights.

This webinar changes that. In one hour, you’ll learn how layoffs actually work here, what Kündigungsschutz (dismissal protection) and severance really mean, why negotiating your exit is far more normal than you think, and how to stay calm and act with certainty when it counts.

You will walk away with:

  • A clear understanding of how layoffs in Germany are structured

  • How companies calculate severance packages and what you are entitled to

  • An explanation of what a Mutual Termination Agreement (Aufhebungsvertrag), Termination Notice (Kündigung), and Settlement Agreement (Abwicklungsvereinbarung) mean

  • An overview of the most important deadlines

  • Your first 72 hours: a calm checklist so you’re not making decisions from panic

  • The options you have to negotiate or protect yourself in Germany, with or without legal insurance

By the end of the session, we will share a “Layoff in Germany Survival Guide”.

Not having legal insurance does not leave you without rights. You’ll leave with the knowledge to protect yourself, a clear understanding of severance, real stories, and a concrete first step, whatever comes next.

Disclaimer: This webinar provides general information only. It is not legal advice and does not replace consultation with a qualified lawyer. For your specific situation, speak to a Fachanwalt für Arbeitsrecht (we can refer you to the ones we trust).
