About the park · 关于 Brand Park
The white palace in the middle of the park is El Miradero, built in 1904 for Glendale founder Leslie C. Brand. Its domes and arches were inspired by the East Indian Pavilion at the 1893 Chicago World's Fair. Since 1956 it has been the Brand Library & Art Center, Glendale's library for art and music. The library is closed on Sundays, but the outside is the best photo spot in the park.
公园中央那座白色"城堡"是 Glendale 开拓者 Leslie C. Brand 的宅邸 El Miradero（"眺望台"），建于 1904 年，尖顶和拱门的灵感来自 1893 年芝加哥世博会的东印度馆。1956 年起成为 Brand 图书艺术中心，专门收藏视觉艺术和音乐。周日图书馆不开门，但外面就是园里最好的拍照点。
Staying on the lawn? The Doctors House, an 1888 Victorian home in the park, runs guided tours on Sundays 2–4 PM (suggested donation $10).（草坪组可以顺路看看 Doctors House：1888 年的维多利亚式老房子，周日下午 2–4 点有导览，建议捐 $10。）

Good to know · 须知
Bring water, a hat and sunscreen. The trails are steep with almost no shade.（带水、帽子、防晒，山路陡，几乎没有树荫）
Hikers: wear sneakers or hiking shoes.（徒步组请穿运动鞋或登山鞋）
Parking in the park is free. Caltech carpools leave from campus; we'll match drivers and riders in the WeChat group.（园内免费停车；Caltech 拼车从学校出发，微信群里安排）
No alcohol in Glendale parks.（Glendale 公园禁止饮酒）
This is a privately organized outing; please look after your own safety.（私人组织活动，请注意自身安全）
Photos may be taken and shared on Caltech C channels.（现场会拍照，可能用于 Caltech C 的宣传）
