About Event

Khailee Ng is a Managing Partner at 500 Global, one of the world’s most active venture capital firms with over $2.4 billion in assets under management. He is widely recognized as the architect who transformed 500 from a US-centric seed fund into a truly global platform, spanning 80+ countries and thousands of investments. He has led more than 180 seed deals, with 7 unicorns, 3 IPOs, including Grab at $40 Billion at the time of IPO. Collectively, validating his thesis that billion-dollar companies can emerge from anywhere in the world.

Khailee did not start out as an investor, but as a freelance designer and developer from age 15 before cofounding 2 companies, each with 8-digit cash exits before turning 30. He co-founded Groupsmore (acquired by Groupon) and SAYS.com, a social media network that went public on the Kuala Lumpur Stock Exchange before its acquisition by Media Prima. Having taken his own companies from founding to IPO, he brings firsthand empathy for the founder’s path and has infused that founder-centric mindset into 500 Global’s culture.

Today, Khailee remains an entrepreneur at heart. He is bringing 500 Global's best talents to Silicon Valley, while he building and incubating AI ventures from scratch, exploring new frontiers at the intersection of AI, media, and globalization. He navigates complexity with first principles and lived experience, which is what brought him to live and build with Residency community.

Join us for a fireside chat with him to discuss his journey, his lessons as an IPOed founder, and his lessons on fundraising from both sides of the table.

Some of the topics we'll cover relate to the timeless physics of fundraising:

  • Concepts like "deal ladders", "deal tension", "combination locks", "simultaneity", and how they drive fundraising outcomes

  • Fundraising muscle building, and fundraising moments, from early to late rounds

  • The curiosity loop and other inner games to win
