Entrepreneurs’ Dinner with Lord Stockwood
As part of our mission to make the UK the best place in the world to start and scale a business, we regularly engage with all of the main Westminster parties to bridge the gap between entrepreneurs and policymakers.
In collaboration with Forsters, we have arranged a private roundtable dinner with Lord Stockwood, the Chair of the Office for Investment and former Minister for Investment.
Britain is exceptionally good at starting companies, but scaling them requires capital of a different order. When the large rounds, new facilities and expansion plans of high-growth firms cannot be funded here, they are often funded abroad. Attracting global and sovereign investment into British businesses is central to keeping our most promising companies in the UK.
Following the Autumn Budget, Lord Stockwood will join founders for a private discussion under the Chatham House Rule on how the UK can attract more international investment into its scale-ups, and what the Budget means for Britain’s appeal as a place to invest.
Lord Stockwood chairs the Office for Investment and was Minister for Investment between 2025 and 2026. Prior to entering government, Lord Stockwood held leadership and board roles at Simply Business, Match.com, Skyscanner, and lastminute.com. He also invested in early-stage technology companies and was a limited partner in several venture funds.
