La Convivencia by The Public Intellectual

​You’re invited on Saturday, May 30, 2026, to our version of a literary salon: La Convivencia, an evening dedicated to exploring how books can act as mirrors.

​Bring a book in which you saw yourself reflected in a character (whether in the good, the bad, or the ugly).

​The energy behind La Convivencia is inspired by the spirit of the Spanish word convivir: the act of sharing space and presence in a way that creates connection.

​We’ll gather at Ex•tra, an apartment and gathering space in St. Louis above the restaurant Esca on Delmar Blvd. Together, we’ll share our book picks over small bites and libations. The first hour we will be welcoming folks into the space, the second hour will be more structured conversation, and we'll leave time to reconnect at the end.
