Unfolding Predicaments
Sometimes life feels like a predicament. Something is being asked of you, and every way of answering seems to cost too much. Speak, and you risk everything. Stay silent, and you fail the one who needs you.
Many of us feel this now. The world seems to be asking something of us, and maybe asking us to be something, and what rises first is the bracing: too big, too much, not me, not enough, not now.
Zen has a koan for exactly this place. It doesn't solve the predicament or offer a way out. It asks how you'll meet the moment from right where you are.
Join us for the next Aletheia Agora meeting. I'll offer a short teaching about the koan, we'll practice meditation, and meet each other in small-group inquiry. No experience of Aletheia is needed. Come as you are, including the part of you that feels unequal to the moment.
Aletheia Agora is a global gathering of the Aletheia community of practice. We explore and practice together. We deepen our field of connections and relationships. We inspire each other. We meet each other exactly as we are.
