Allies, Hidden Figures, and Intrapreneurs

Working across functions in corporate social impact.

Join Tiana Austel, Jolana Amara, and Chloé Nwangwu for a look at how to build stronger cross-functional relationships, visibility, and support systems so meaningful work doesn’t depend entirely on individual effort.

Most social impact conversations focus on programs. This one focuses on infrastructure.

Inside corporations, creative problem-solvers working toward social impact are often scattered across functions: CSR, HR, Operations, Finance, Legal, Product, and beyond. Some are highly visible. Many are not. The systems that determine legitimacy, influence, and resourcing were rarely designed to support this kind of distributed changemaking.

This RW Institute Makerspace Salon brings together practitioners and systems thinkers exploring a deeper question:

How do we weave durable networks of influence inside organizations that outlast budgets, leadership changes, and political cycles?

Featuring:

  • Tiana Austel (eBay Foundation)

  • Jolana Amara (League of Intrapreneurs)

  • N. Chloé Nwangwu (NobiWorks)

Hosted by:

  • Chris Jarvis (Realized Worth / RW Institute)

  • Tim Parsons (Idealist / RW Institute)

A live, thinking-out-loud conversation about visibility bias, intrapreneurship, ally architecture, emotional legibility, and the hidden infrastructure behind meaningful change. Not a panel of polished answers. A design conversation for people trying to build what lasts.

Notes: One hour, online, small group, transcript shared back with participants, highlights shared with everyone.
